Better Learning Experiences 
When creating training, I note that it is much like any other creative process: Begin with an outline. To modernize the process, we must also note that video training is all the rage.

Simple training-creation process review:

(1) Make an outline.

(2) Select the key topics for video.

(3) Select the key topics for executive / manager / SME participation.

(4) Cover the rest in a traditional manner (instructor led / web / book-based training.)

(5) Finally, select the key points for the ever critical pre & post-process review. Allow both automated (web, etc.), as well as face-to-face feedback on these pre / post orientation sessions.

Remember: One learns best by involving all of our senses - Auditory, Visual, Tactile, Responsive, as well as the Face-to-face.

Ultimately, wrapping any learning experience with both a written & oral review completed one personal recommendation during a recent discussion over one ideal way to cover most student's critical learning-bases.

Time Sheets? About Time! 
How do you spend your holidays?

Yea, well ... we awoke way too early this Monday-holiday morning inspired to share our latest secret weapon with our friends.

Known as "AboutTime", fans of EzLog have been asking about what we were going to do with the pre-reserved moniker on SourceForge for almost a year now.

Yes, AboutTime looks like EzLog, but the mission of AboutTime is to support weekly Time & Accounting Management. Rather than managing technical logs & team collaboration via huge log files, AboutTime files are smaller. Most people feel the need to create a new activity file every other week or so.

Why weekly time logging files? -Because smaller files are better for time support management activities. Certainly for the weekly status report.

So let the AboutTime Project officially begin with time-card ((ahem) yes, I am that old) support... There are LOTS of collaborative accounting activities coming to AboutTime during a holiday near you!

How To Be Happy 
LinkedIn Asks: "Why do so many people hate their jobs?"

Working backwards: If we want to be happy - we do our best. If we want to become great - we keep doing so?

Surely most of us were not "born to be" doctors, lawyers... or even 'geeks. Instead, we were "born to" learn how to be appreciated. Such requires learning how to do our best?

Hence, in order to be happy, one only needs to stick to a task, until it sticks to us?

We must believe that the reason why most people are not happy at their jobs - as well as in just about everything else that one might do - is because most people do not choose to give whatever it is we are doing our very best effort?

If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michaelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, 'Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.” ---Martin Luther King Jr.

Even for those we consider "gifted", certainly perfect-practice has ever paved the way toward perfect-appreciation. Indeed, what a "child prodigy" will master at 10, many others will master by 20?

Therefore, the hope for even those less-gifted is the same. Ultimately:

Conversely, rather than ever-changing jobs, perhaps most folks would learn how to enjoy what we are doing simply by giving - whatever we are doing - our very best effort?
