At the moment, my final tool-chain uses one of several screen capture tools for screen-casts (lots of options there!) followed by Adobe Elements 11 + Audacity for the best quality voice-overs & final touches.
From a hardware point of view, I have migrated away from a Mac to use a maxed-out i7 running Windows, with the "Cowboy Studio" doing my at-home, in-house green screens.
Here is an example of a recent end result for Testing Success.
I agree - like the others in the thread - that having a top-notch microphone is the best place to invest! By way of an example, note how my free "VB.NET" training has suffered from audio quality problems. While the best solution would be to simply redo the training, recently I have re-discovered how Audacity will allow me to automatically clean-up these many hours of instruction. Since better-paying work is obviously completed before free, I usually find time to update such things over those multi-day holidays.

I've just cloned my data collections from MySQL for embedded / stand-alone use on a Raspberry Pi (as well as Android, Windows, OS/X, Linux, and ... uh ... well ... virtually everywhere else!)

Best Of All?
We will be using the data collections on everything from PHP & Python to Java and .NET: You've simply gotta love Sqlite3!
To celebrate, allow us to share a modern re-versing ;) of an ancient programming-platform celebratory song:
for your data-needs in general
For data bases vegetable, animal, and mineral
The OS handles CPUs
with multiplexed complexity;
Our C++ compiler has impressive functionality...!
The storage system's better than
something with an old 'nt,
You never have to bother checking out
a bit's odd-parity;
There isn't any reason
to install non-static floor matting;
The boot-point has capacity for external disk-formatting.
I feel compelled to mention
what I know to be a gloating point:
There's lots of speed in memory
for variables as floating-point,
Which shows for input vegetable, animal, and mineral
We've built a better platform
for our data-needs in general!
(Note: If one cannot pick-up the beat after the first two verses or so, the above was designed be sung to the tune of the "Modern Major General" from the "Pirates of Penzance" ;)
Enjoy the Journey!

Downloaded version 1.2.2 of sqliteman (for sqlite3) on Ubuntu 14.05 LTS yesterday via the software center. Written in Qt, versions for Microsoft Windows & elsewhere are also available.
Decidedly for those who know SQL rather well, we found that sqliteman (official screen shot) is a must-have tool for those in-the-know. -Admins and software developers are the targeted audience.
For the novice, sqliteman would be perfect for those who have just learned the SQL basics of views, select statements, as well as table creation. One should also be aware of the shorter list of abbreviated data types.
Ultimately, I found that sqliteman's ability to allow us to keep a running list of select-and-run statement to be very addictive.
Surely the perfect tool for the SQLite and / or Python3 enthusiast - Keep up the good work!
