Imposter Syndrome
If one likes cars, any single one might understandably enjoy authoritatively participating in & directing a car's design... as well as participating & working hands-on with a car's construction & testing... not to mention any vehicle's gradual improvement. Such enthusiasm is understandable, with cars.

Why so much less understandable is it, therefore, to be able to authoritatively participate in every aspect of software design & creation?

The reason, of course, is that not everyone who pretends to like software, genuinely likes the art of software creation.

No. -What most people enjoy more is being rewarded, as if they did.

Hence the biggest problem in the software industry today is "imposer syndrome."

You don't find that syndrome ... amongst those who love ... cars.
